The Smallest Hole Is 22 Mm In Diameter, How Wide Should The Other Holes Be?

In my kitchen I have a tool that one can use to portion spaghetti for cooking. It has four round holes, corresponding to the spaghetti need for 1,2,3 and 4 servings. The smallest hole is 22 mm in diameter, how wide should the other holes be?

  1. Adriaan L Says

    A = ¼ π D²
    D = √ (4A/π)
    (1) ¼ π 22² ≈ 380.13 mm²
    (2) D = √ (4 x 760.26/π) = √ 968 = 31.1 mm
    (3) D = √ (4 x 1140.40/π) = √ 1 452 = 38.1 mm
    (4) D = √ (4 x 1520.53/π) = √ 1 936 = 44 mm
